Get Ready for Your July Fourth “Hollies” Day Celebration at Long Bridge Park

Celebrate America’s birthday by the Potomac with an evening of food, games, fireworks and British Invasion classics from Steve Lauri of the Hollies.

The County’s fifth annual Fourth festivities at Long Bridge Park kick off at 5 p.m. with non-stop rain-or-shine fun for all ages: drop-in kickball, cornhole, giant Jenga, bocce, free face painting, balloon art and moon bounces (weather-permitting) and more.

A smorgasbord of local food vendors will be on hand throughout the evening with offerings ranging from barbeque and banh mi to farm salads and gazpacho.

Free shuttle buses will run between the park and the Pentagon City and Crystal City Metro stops. There will be no on-site parking.

A hula hoop contest and giant parachute fun will keep things moving until sundown. Then drink in Long Bridge’s unrivaled views of the dazzling fireworks show from the nation’s capital.

Guitar great Lauri takes the stage at 7:45 p.m., playing Hollies classics like “Bus Stop” and “Long Cool Woman.” He’ll toss in some classic rock surprises and even a few originals too.

Everyone’s favorite area party band Cazhmiere opens at 6 p.m., covering everyone from Michael Jackson and Prince to Bruno Mars and Beyoncé. A local DJ will get the party started at 5 p.m.

Outside food and drinks are permitted but alcohol and personal fireworks are not. Security will search bags and coolers.

The evening will wind down by 10 p.m. with final shuttles leaving the park at 10:30 p.m.
