10th Anniversary MPAartfest 2016 and Soirée Celebration

MPAartfest is an annual community-wide celebration of the visual arts produced by McLean Project for the Arts. During MPAartfest, McLean Central Park is transformed into a lively landscape of mini art galleries showcasing and offering for sale the work of acclaimed artists from the Mid-Atlantic region.
Celebrates our 10th Anniversary!

McLean’s only juried arts festival will showcase 52 local and regional visual artists. This FREE event features contemporary art, Children’s Art Walk, hands-on art studio, STEAM experiences, food vendors, and live music throughout the day, making this a must-attend community event for art lovers of all ages!

Budding artists create their own artwork at MPA’s ArtReach Hands On Art Studio
The Open Air Art Studio also provides an opportunity for attendees to sketch, draw and create their own artwork throughout the day.

McLean Project for the Arts and its partners strive to make kids successful learners by increasing their access to the visual arts. MPA’s ArtReach program supports schools with STEAM learning throughout the school year and through its dynamic summer camp program. Visit McLean Project for the Art’s Red & White Information Center to learn about MPA’s STEAM programs and year-round arts classes for young people in support of the organization’s partnership with the Fairfax County Public Schools and STEAM education.

McLean Project for the Arts produces this community-wide celebration of contemporary art in collaboration with the lead community sponsor, McLean Community Center and other supporters including: Arts Council of Fairfax County, The Virginia Commission for the Arts, The National Endowment for the Arts, and many others.

A host of STEAM experiences were offered throughout the day in MPA’s STEAM Center including:

STEAM Center provided young people with visual arts experiences applied to robotics, science, math and engineering.
An innovative community mural making event, combined the world of art and technology.
When you add lively music, wonderful food and beverages, MPAartfest was truly a great way to enjoy a fall day.
