OTICE: PARADE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. PLENTY OF TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE FOR THE MARDI GRAS BALL!

Tuesday, February 9th is the date for the 17th Annual Clarendon-Courthouse Mardi Gras Parade… and our First-Ever Mardi Gras Ball! Our parade starts at 7pm and is the largest in the DC area–we are expecting more than 30 entrants this year. The parade runs on Wilson Blvd from N. Barton St. to N. Irving St. The Mardi Gras Ball, which will be held from 7-11 pm at the Clarendon Ballroom is a ticketed event.

We have a great musical double bill planned. Yamomanem Jazz Band goes first, then comes 8 Ohms Band. Between sets, we plan to announce a King and Queen of the Ball. We’ll have traditional Louisiana food, and a variety of beverages. Parade participants can get discounted ball tickets, and for Parade participants with cars or floats, parking is available at the St. Charles Borromeo Church, one block from the Clarendon Ballroom. Proceeds help offset parade costs and also benefit St. Charles Church.

The Clarendon Courthouse Mardi Gras Parade is a family-friendly event, and it’s big fun. Thousands of local residents and visitors will line the parade route along Wilson Boulevard from North Barton Street to Washington Boulevard. Participating in the parade is a great way to have fun–participants can wear masks, dress completely inappropriately, and throw stuff at people. What’s not to like? (And it also happens to be a wonderful and inexpensive way to showcase your group, business, musical talents or whatever else, to cheering throngs).

The Parade registration deadline is now Wednesday, February 3rd. Bead orders are closed. Mardi Gras Ball Tickets can be purchased $20 each in advance, and will also be sold at the door for $25.

We’re looking forward to seeing you on February 9!h! Laissez les bons temps rouler!
