Theo nguồn tin trên trang mạng thành phố Alexandria For Immediate Release: October 19, 2016 The Alexandria Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) invites the public to make the 2016 holiday season brighter for the most vulnerable members of our community — low-income families, foster children, seniors and residents with disabilities. Through the annual Holiday Sharing program, coordinated by the Fund for Alexandria’s Child, sponsors purchase gifts for eligible families and individuals, which are distributed by DCHS staff and volunteers. Gifts of household necessities, clothing, toys, and gift cards help ensure that no Alexandria residents are left without during the holidays. This month, volunteers will register more than 700 families in need of assistance. Last year, DCHS assisted 775 families, 191 seniors and persons with disabilities, and nearly 100 children in foster care. Thousands of donated items, and $23,000 in gift certificates and grocery cards were distributed. Sign up to sponsor or sign up to volunteer (Enter “Holiday Sharing” in the search box). Monetary donations can be made via credit card (Amex, VISA, MasterCard, or Discover) here. Make donation checks payable to The Fund for Alexandria’s Child, or to the DCHS Senior Fund, and mail to: Holiday Sharing Program 2525 Mount Vernon Avenue Alexandria, VA 22301 The Fund for Alexandria’s Child is a program within the Alexandria Department of Community and Human Services, which works to enhance the quality of life of the most vulnerable children in our community.
