WHY:

Each Year, those of Asian descent inaugurate the coming lunar year with the Lunar New Year Festival, our most celebrated and significant holiday. With our mission of “Preserving Traditions, Promoting Cultures”, we welcome all to join us to observe and celebrate the Lunar New Year, to share the Southeast Asian cultures and traditions with communities in the vicinity, to provide opportunities for companies and organizations to promote their products and services to a highly targeted audience, and to offer youth and non-profit organizations a venue to participate in leadership development, community service, and fundraising opportunities to support their cultural and educational programs.

Asia Times Square is honored to present to the community the largest annual Lunar New Year Festival in the entire North Texas area attracting thousands of patrons throughout the Metroplex and neighboring cities and states for the past nine years.

Once again, Asia Times Square is proud to announce “The 10th Annual Asia Times Square Lunar New Year Festival 2017, “Year of the Rooster.” This year’s festivities will be spread over two weekends beginning Jan 20th through Jan 29th. It will be co-hosted by Hong Kong Market Place, VIETV network and Forever Yes Event.

COST: Free entry and parking. Food will be available for purchase.

HIGHLIGHTS: The following will highlight the main programs during the festival
• Nightly Music Concerts with various styles performed by famous Vietnamese singers from California and other local bands.
• Day-time: Multicultural performances, Flash mob dance, Lions Dances, Dragon Dances, martial arts exhibitions, Vietnamese Bingo, Firecrackers
• Flower Festival
• ATS Rising Stars 2017: Children’s singing contest with impressive prizes: $2,000 (1st place), $1,000 (2nd Place), $500.00 (3rd place)
• Ethnic foods and drinks representing Asian, Hispanic, and American cultures.
• Photo, Commercial booth vendors
• Handmade Clay Art Products
• Children & Teenagers activities: Carnival Games, Creative zone, Kidzone, Face Painting

DETAILS:

Free mini concerts will be performed both weekends with various styles from Classic to Modern, from Asian to American, and many more.

Those in attendance will get to experience the diverse foods, snacks, and drinks from different cultures, such as Vietnamese, Chinese, Thailand, Laos, Cambodian, Korean, Hispanic, and American. Restaurants, souvenir stores, boutique, drink and dessert shops, and 40+ other retailers inside Asia Times Square will provide the perfect Asian Cultural experience.

There will be plenty of fun activities for your family and friends: Dragons and Lions Dances; fire crackers; martial arts exhibitions, multi-cultural dances and performances, fashion shows, carnival games, face painting, and other traditional Asian games that you can only find during Lunar New Year holidays such as “Crap, fish, Tiger games”; Vietnamese bingo and more.

Hong Kong Market Place, one of the largest Asian grocery store in DFW, will have festive flowers and many more traditional products that will help you celebrate the Lunar New Year, such as sweet candies, jams, cakes, preserved fruits, sticky rice cake, decors that are only sold during Lunar New Year.

Come out with your friends and families for this special holiday. Visit ATS and take some selfies or beautiful photos with your group under the strings of colorful umbrellas, blossoming flowers, the Lucky Man Fountain, and more. In the Atrium, the alley between the Hong Kong Market Place and Asia Times Square buildings, the festival attendees will enjoy the relaxing yet romantic atmosphere with decorations of lanterns and lightings.

To celebrate the 10th year anniversary and in the spirit of providing you a memorable experience, Asia Times Square Lunar New Year festival committee will have many new vendors and activities to ensure that all will have a great & fun time celebrating the new year. Some of the activities include Creative Zone, (explore your talent and make your own cute products), the Kid Zone (carnival games, face painting, fishing play), or Herb & Fruit Drink (try delicious natural drinks from herbs and fruits that are best choice for your health and taste)
